Chris Amenta

Like many coaches, Chris’ background has revolved around sport and fitness. After getting rhabdomyolysis while training CrossFit, Chris turned to Weightlifting and immersed himself in the sport. He spent a year training under Bob Takano and moved to North Carolina, training under Jon North. Chris moved back to SoCal and co-owned a gym where he started Southern California Weightlifting Club. As a USAW Level 2 National Coach, Chris has coached 5 National athletes across Youth, Junior, Senior and Masters levels.

Kody Robison

Kody Robison

Kody Robison played football and was a thrower in high school where he was an all league defensive end and punter as well as a 2 time state finalist in the shot put. He learned how effective Olympic Weightlifting improved his performance and made it a staple in his training early on. Kody was a 3 time team captain, 4 time league champion, recipient of the Dual Sport Athlete Award, and was inducted into his high school Weightlifting hall of fame. Kody attended Long Beach State where he completed a B.A. in Human Development. While at LBSU, Kody became the Big West Champion of the Hammer Throw his junior and senior year as well as holding the #4 all time distance in that event. He also received the Bob Hart Hall of Fame Award for courage in his performance in the javelin throw despite injuries. During his tenure at LBSU, the men’s team was undefeated. In weightlifting, Kody took 3rd at the University Nationals in Ogden and 13th at the 2015 American Open. Kody is a Coach for SoCal Weightlifting Club.
